A 2D/3D animation done with a group for a semester-long project. I made the model for the statue, the candle character (Waxford), the rig for Waxford, and animated the final scene of the 3D portion of the animation. The 3D haf of the animation is textured with the Clay Doh plugin for Blender 4.0 ( https://doublegum.gumroad.com/l/ClayDoh ).

Waxford is a starving artist who is working to make the perfect candle holder for himself. We watch as Waxford puts everything he has into the project, mirrored by a dancer in his flame. As the dancer's dance intensifies, so does Waxford's workflow. In the end, Waxford's room melts along with him, and the dancer fails a final jump in her performance. We see Waxford hop into bed before his flame goes out, signaling the end of the animation. Our group wanted to touch on how frequently artists overwork themselves in the pursuit of the perfect piece.
